Make It Cheaper and Eco-Nomics announce Energy Partnership
Make It Cheaper - one of the UK’s most successful SME energy brokers - and Eco-Nomics, a leading UK energy efficiency consultancy, have announced the formation of a strategic partnership to offer a complete energy service to Britain’s businesses.
While wholesale energy prices have recently fallen, business energy costs have continued to rise - and these increases have led more businesses to look at both better energy procurement and improved energy efficiency. It is the need for a service which enables firms to excel in these areas that has inspired the formation of the partnership.
The service will initially focus on larger, ‘major business’ clients, including those who need to meet mandatory requirements under the new Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).
John Tarbet, Managing Director of Eco-Nomics said:
“There was a natural synergy in this partnership as both our companies are essentially about saving business customers money – Make It Cheaper through better procurement, Eco-Nomics through helping to identify and implement energy saving technologies and measures.”
Jonathan Elliott, Chief Executive Officer at Make It Cheaper added:
“Our team has been hugely successful in frequently adapting to offer our customers complementary services to ensure they get great value from their relationship with us.
“We have spent time looking for the right energy efficiency partner and are confident that Eco-Nomics not only matches our ethos of always providing excellent customer service, but also offers both a deep technical knowledge and a proven track record of delivering results for SMEs and larger business accounts.”

Make It Cheaper:
Since launching in 2007 Make It Cheaper has been the number one destination for businesses to get a better deal on their utilities and other overheads, including telecoms, insurance and merchant services (Chip & PIN), typically saving over 30% of costs (as well as a considerable amount of time).
In 2012, the company acquired UK Power, to expand their offering to household energy consumers.
Based in Central London with 126 staff, Make It Cheaper offers deals from the widest range of energy companies including all of the 'Big 6' and over 20 of the smaller domestic and non-domestic suppliers.
The company has featured in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 for the past two years.
Since launching in 2011, Eco-Nomics has helped a diverse client base ranging from smaller, private companies through to larger public sector organisations such as the Civil Aviation Authority and Network Rail.
Once Eco-Nomics have identified where potential savings exist, ‘best in class’ technology partners and funding solutions are then introduced to clients, thereby helping them actually implement the savings.
