Make It Cheaper is ‘Most Trusted’ by SMEs buying energy
London-based business cost-savers also win 'SME Consumer Champion' at inaugural energy awards ceremony.
Make It Cheaper has been named as Britain's 'Most Trusted' source of advice for small businesses by The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA). Make It Cheaper also won the title of 'SME Consumer Champion' at last Thursday's (27th June) inaugural awards ceremony, held at the London Film Museum in London's County Hall.
The TELCA awards, which set the benchmark for the energy consultancy sector, are split into two categories to reflect how the market is structured: Industrial & Commercial (I&C) and Small Business (SME). Representing 50,000 SMEs in the UK, Make It Cheaper was recognised as the leader in its field for the work it has carried out over the past six years to reduce costs for its customers. For example, over £300 million has been saved by businesses using its free energy price comparison service. Once customers of Make It Cheaper, these businesses are then assisted with their annual energy supplier renewals to avoid being trapped by expensive 'rollover' contracts.
Entrants were shortlisted following a rigorous judging process of two rounds. The final winners were picked by an independent judging panel chaired by ex-Head of Energy Management at Marks & Spencer, Mervyn Bowden and including Angela Knight, CEO of trade body Energy UK and Louise Kingham, CEO of the Energy Institute.
