National Business Awards beckon Make It Cheaper

Championing small businesses in Orange-sponsored 2010 Awards

Business price comparison service, Make It Cheaper, has been shortlisted for the 2010 National Business Awards (SME category) and the National Customer Service Awards (B2B category).

Based in Waterloo, the privately-owned company has blazed an impressive growth path in the three years it has been in operation, offering free and independent advice to businesses on reducing the cost of their utility bills. It handles over 2,000 enquiries a week from businesses who either call Make It Cheaper direct or are recommended through its partnerships with the major domestic price comparison sites (such as GoCompare, Moneysupermarket and uSwitch) or business membership organisations (such as The Law Society). By switching companies on to the lowest rates and then earning a commission from suppliers as it introduces new customers, Make It Cheaper saves UK businesses a combined £100 million a year as well as reaching an annual turnover itself of £7 million.

Not only has Make It Cheaper become the UK's leading expert in business price comparison but has also branched out internationally with an identical service now in Australia and more countries planned for 2011.

Finalists for the Awards will make their presentations in person before an independent, expert judging panel and the winners will be unveiled at black tie ceremonies - both being held at the Grosvenor House Hotel - towards the end of the year.
