How we work

We believe it's time for all the hard work of business utilities to be taken away, because let's face it - you have better things to do. So, when we say we offer a hassle-free service, we mean it. Find out how our values and service are focused around making your life easier.

Making your life easier

Since 2007, we’ve been dedicated to saving UK businesses like yours the time, hassle and frustration of dealing with utilities. Whether it’s electricity, gas, insurance, phone and broadband, or even water, we are your hassle-free and fair alternative to traditional suppliers.

With us, you can say goodbye to the endless calls, tedious waiting times and pushy sales conversations that come with switching utilities. You don’t even need to negotiate prices - we do that for you. That’s why our customers save up to £1,500†.

Remove the hassle. Stay in control

With our exclusive Do It For You service, we take care of your contract renewals every year – removing the hassle at every corner and keeping you informed along the way, meaning you never have to deal with business utilities again.

  • Save every year: Every time your contract is up for renewal, we’ll save you time and effort by finding a great new package and doing all the negotiating for you.
  • Hassle-free: We’ll arrange the contract and take care of everything in between - conversations, queries and more.
  • Stay in control: You can select all your switching preferences and update them at any time, so you never have to worry about being put onto a contract.

We’re here to get you a fair deal

Everyone at Make It Cheaper is on a mission to help your business save time, hassle and money, and put a smile on your face while we’re at it.

  • We want to remove all the frustrations and hassle of dealing with business utilities, for good.
  • We want to help you save money on your business utilities, year after year.
  • We want you to stay in control by letting us know what prices, or suppliers, you prefer.
  • We want to get the best packages for your business from providers we know and trust.

And because we’re 100% independent and impartial, we search every tariff from every supplier, so you can be sure you’re getting the very best deal available.

This means we will never recommend one deal over another, unless it’s in the very best interests of your business. And the final decision is always yours, with no obligation and no hard sell.

How do we make money?

Make It Cheaper has to make money, just like any other business, but how can we offer such a comprehensive switching service without charging any of our customers a single penny?

It’s quite simple – each time we set up a new contract, we earn a small fee from the suppliers you’ve chosen. This fee can range between £50 to £500, depending on your utility usage and needs.

The commission we make is the same from each supplier, meaning we can guarantee that we will always recommend the best supplier for you, irrelevant of how much money we make.

And we’re proud to be the only organisation trusted by some of the UK’s leading price comparison sites, including MoneySupermarket, and uSwitch, to look after their business customers.

A rigorous selection process has also seen us partner with the Federation of Small Businesses, to offer impartial help to its members. As well as specialising in assisting businesses, we help homeowners find the best deals for their energy, too.
