The Federation of Small Businesses Annual Conference
The FSB are holding a conference and Make It Cheaper will be there
The Federation of Small Business (FSB) are the experts in business. Offering its members a wide range of vital business services including advice, financial expertise, support and a powerful voice in government.
Established over 40 years ago to help the UK’s smaller businesses succeed in business, FSB is a non-profit making and non-party political organisation that’s led by their members, for their members.
Members get an exclusive package of great value business services including advice, financial products and support. These cover a wide range of benefits such as tax, legal and HR, local network groups, business banking and mentoring.
FSB is also the UK’s leading business campaigner, focused on delivering change which supports smaller businesses to grow and succeed. Their lobbying arm starts with the work of their team in Westminster which focuses on UK and English policy issues. Further to this, their expert teams in Glasgow, Cardiff and Belfast work with governments, elected members and decision-makers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Every year, the organisation holds its National Business Conference in a different location. This year, sunny Torquay in Devon will play host.
It’s open to both members and non-members alike. Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from some of the UK’s leading political figures on the most pressing matters affecting businesses. As well as this, they will also be able to attend valuable businesses seminars and talks by some of the leading experts of today. Finally, the conference will also offer the very beneficial opportunity to network with other small business owners.
Some of the key things affecting businesses today being covered include: auto enrolment of workplace pensions, legal issues, cyber protection, apprenticeships and climate change –on which Make It Cheaper’s very own Joe Wood will be a panellist.
The likes of Google, the Met Office and Legal and General will have their experts share their knowledge over the course of the three days.
If you’re in the Devon area, check out the FSB’s conference site for more details on attending.
We’ll be there to. Caroline Radford and Jo Salacinski will be presenting on energy and water respectively and Joe Wood will sit on a panel on climate change. Swing by our stand (number 24) and our team will be there to see if they can help you save on energy (Thursday and Friday only).
