‘Switching on Small Business’: Helping British businesses save money on their energy bills
About our campaign
Small businesses are paying an extra £1.6bn on their energy bills per year because it’s too difficult to switch. When your priority is running a business, spending time and money switching energy providers is not the top of your list.
However, many business owners agree that if a third party could do the leg work on their behalf, they would undertake the switching process earlier and benefit from being on a better energy tariff.
To resolve this, Make It Cheaper is launching a campaign, ‘Switching on Small Business’ calling for Ofgem, the energy regulator, to make it easier to get a better energy deal.
To make the switching process easier and ensure business customers get the best energy deals available, Make It Cheaper is proposing that Ofgem forces energy companies to respond to digital LoAs in a timely and accurate manner. This would allow business owners to hand over the responsibility of switching to a third party, and invest their time in growing their business.
