Make It Cheaper: A New Breed of ‘Super Consultancy’
The 2016 TELCA awards saw Make It Cheaper crowned as Britain’s first “Super Consultancy” - marking yet another very special night for us at the yearly event. The title – given to the UK’s top energy broker – was announced at the end of the award ceremony hosted at London’s iconic Honourable Artillery Company Grounds.
The TELCA awards, which sets the benchmark for professional standards in the energy consultancy sector, saw hundreds of businesses vying for just 12 awards. This year’s competition was fiercer than ever before, but we managed to hold our own amidst the competition to bag the top prize on the night.
Mervyn Bowden, ex-head of energy management at Marks & Spencer commented on the win, saying: "With the standard of entries improving every year winning the Super Consultancy of the Year against such strong competition is a great achievement."
Entrants were selected following a rigorous shortlisting process, and the winners selected by an independent judging panel chaired by Mervyn Bowden and included names, such as Dame Angela Knight, ex-CEO of trade body Energy UK and Louise Kingham OBE, CEO of the Energy Institute.
Having served the business energy market since 2007, and making business owners smile on a daily basis, we’ve been working tirelessly to evolve the commercial energy market and make it easier and for business owners to save on their business energy. Our efforts have been recognised numerous times at the TELCA awards, winning at least one award every year since 2013. But, this is by far our proudest moment.
Jonathan Elliot Make It Cheaper’s CEO, said: “We’ve made business energy more accessible. We’ve made it easier by moving friction points and we’ve made it cheaper through strong supplier relationships. Make It Cheaper is where one in seven of all businesses in the UK who switch, switch. We’ve made it our mission to put a smile on the face of British businesses - and those smiles start with 200 motivated staff who passionately share in the company values.”
