Businesses should be conscious of their carbon emissions

Companies should become more aware of the amount of energy they are using and what their carbon emissions level is, according to an expert.
A spokesman for the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) advised company bosses to carry out energy and emissions audits straight away to determine any problematic areas that need to be resolved.
He said: "Once you have an understanding of where your emissions are coming from, you can look at the different options for reducing them in those areas. The first thing really is to get that understanding."
The CAT offers solutions to challenges such as climate change, pollution and the waste of precious resources.
According to the spokesman, switching to renewable energy can be cost-effective and can enable companies to meet both national and international targets that are set.
Earlier this year, CAT launched its new eco-educational facility. The Wales Institute for Sustainable Education will provide tens of thousands of people the opportunity to gain vital skills in emerging environmental technologies.
