Business water customers 'should not throw money down the drain'

Business water customers who
regularly switch to keep their bills cheap could be interested in a
Defra campaign that may save them even more money.
The government department is urging Britons to slash their daily
aqua usage by 20 litres, stating doing so will improve the UK's
biodiversity and environment.
Firms that have a washing up rota could be advised to clean their
dishes in a bowl rather than under running water, while six litres
can be saved by switching off a tap when giving teeth a
once-over.
Meanwhile, companies with gardens or grounds could be recommended
to use a bucket or watering can rather than a hosepipe.
TV presenter Kate Humble, who is backing the scheme, urged Britons
to stop wasting a "precious resource".
"Simple changes can really add up to a better environment -
meaning more water for the wildlife and countryside around us as
well as saving on carbon emissions," she said.
In related news, the chair of the Consumer Council for Water Dame
Yve Buckland recently called on regulator Ofwat to incentivise good
performance, in the wake of a report tallying the number of
grievances lodged with some of the sector's big players.
