A new iPhone app has been released by British Gas which enables businesses to easily monitor their energy bills.
From today (August 2nd) British companies will be able to carry out meter readings from their iPhone, iPod or iPad.
Almost 20 per cent of calls to British Gas businesses are from companies experiencing meter reading problems.
The app allows gas and electricity meter readings to be quickly and conveniently updated and offers greater billing accuracy and smarter working, according to British Gas.
Companies that use the app will also have the opportunity to save money by not getting estimated bills.
"The meter reading app is an ideal budgeting tool for our small and medium sized customers by putting them in control of their energy bills in an easy and user friendly manner," Kanat Emiroglu, managing director of British Gas Business, said.
In addition to the iPhone app, British Gas launched Purchase Power in May. The scheme passes on deals and discounted rates to small business customers.
