Infrastructure upgrades 'could benefit business electricity users'

Betchwork infrastructure upgrades 'could benefit business electricity users'

06/08/2010

Companies operating in the Betchworth area could receive better business electricity due to improvements that are underway in the area.

EDF Energy Networks has announced that it is installing 1.3km of cabling in the area that will boost distribution and produce future growth and development options.

The work will be conducted in a way that will minimise its impact on residents, businesses and passing traffic and will provide strong advantages for firms in the local area.

Patrick Clarke, director of connections for the company's Energy Networks, has said that this is an "important upgrade" to the region's energy infrastructure.

He said: "We hope people will understand the need for this work to be undertaken and would like to assure them it will be carried out with the utmost consideration for the community and local environment."

Last month, RenewableUK head of communications Nick Medic claimed that wind power will provide a large number of benefits for business energy users and the economy as a whole.
