About us
Make It Cheaper helps UK homes and businesses save millions of
pounds every year. For homes, we do this via our online domestic energy
switching service, which compares prices and tariffs from
twenty gas and electricity suppliers. In many circumstances we can
help customers save more than £300 a year and we offer a £100
guarantee that the agreed switch will go ahead as planned.
We save money for UK businesses by owners and decision makers
aware of the opportunities available for reducing
overheads, assessing their current circumstances,
comparing the market of service providers to find them the best
deal possible, and dealing with the administration involved in
setting up a new contract.
At present, we do this for business gas, business
electricity, telecommunications (mobile, landline and broadband) and merchant services.
Through our sister company Make It Cheaper Financial Services, we
also source commercial insurance
policies from a range of providers.

Our history
Located in Central London, Make It Cheaper was formed in 2007 by
a team of business utility professionals to answer a call from the
UK's 4.5 million small to medium-sized enterprises.
The aim was to represent the interests of those companies by
offering them fair prices and a high
standard of customer service.
In 2010 alone, we saved UK businesses over £40
million by reducing thousands of energy bills, helping us
gain a nomination at the Growing Business Awards as well as
reaching the final of the 2010 National Business Awards UK and the
National Customer Service Awards 2010.
In 2011, we achieved an annual saving figure of £88
million. Our success brought us recognition in the
Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list - where we were placed number
39 in the UK's fastest-growing companies. Although more than fifty
per cent of businesses that make this list one year do not make it
the next, we managed to achieve enough growth to make the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 in 2012, where we
were ranked number 73.
In 2012, our annual saving figure was over
£100m - and we're on a mission to save UK businesses a
total of £500 million by the year 2014. Former BBC Dragons' Den
panelist Doug Richard has described Make It Cheaper as a 'white
knight', noting that we are a force for good for UK businesses and
economic growth (see video).
In 2013, we launched a home energy switching
service that allows customers to compare prices and tariffs
from 20 gas and electricity suppliers. As with our business
service, we take care of the administrative side of a home energy
switch. To ease any fears and insecurities about switching, we
offer customers a £100 guarantee that any contract they agree
with us will go through as planned.

By guaranteeing a free and impartial service,
the company has grown to become the number one destination
for UK small and medium-sized enterprises to get a better
deal. Make It Cheaper's management team and saving
experts help businesses uncover significant cost savings across a
range of products and are passionate about getting the best deals
for their customers.
It is this passion that has attracted partners from most of the
major household price comparison services (including Money
Supermarket and Go Compare), charities, membership organisations,
banks, trade associations and a number of other business champions.
As a result of these partnership channels, we receive up to
3,000 enquiries every week and arrange more new contracts
than any other non-domestic cost saving service.
Make It Cheaper conducts over 5,000 satisfaction surveys a year
to gather customer feedback, fine-tune the service we provide and
gauge the appetite for new products. Using the Net Promoter Scoring
system, we have tracked how well we've performed in the eyes of our
customers from a respectable NPS of 59% in 2010 to a score that is
now consistently over 75%.
