Business water customers may welcome Kinakyle plans

22/09/2009

Business water customers north of the border may be interested in plans for the discontinuation of using Loch Einich for supply

Scottish Water stated the lake had become "environmentally-sensitive" as it announced plans to plough £22 million into a new source at Kinakyle.

It is also intended that there will be less reliance on the River Sprey as a result of the changes, which the company stated will be of economic benefit to the local area.

A planning permission summit was held last Friday (September 18th), where the National Park Authority gave the green light for the development.

The organisation aims to provide water from the new source from summer 2010, with construction due to begin before the end of 2009.

In other news which may interest business water customers, South East Water (SEW) was recently criticised in a report.

The Consumer Council of Water stated the volume of grievances lodged against the company in recent years is "very poor".ADNFCR-2467-ID-19372433-ADNFCR
